Nike vs Adidas OR: Shoes + Sports = Cool
Adidas is eating it up now. Their commitment to the sport of running is turning heads. Extra thanks to Sebastian Sawe's sub 2. They'll be eating on this for a while. The one thing I found is that the running community is that's filled with the information hungry nerds. Like me.
Chasing Sub 2 walks you through the immense effort it took to get one guy across the line. Yes, he did the work. He's the man. But behind that man is a whole team and company. It's like watching NASA land a man on the moon.
Nike Back on Track (the running track)
I was a big Nike guy. They were my go-to shoes. One, because they were cool. Had the best profiles and amazing color ways. And two, because I knew they were the best. They had the technology behind them to do it as best as it can be done. Or so I was sold.
Cut to now, and I've gone from yearly Nike Pegasuses to Brooks Glycerins. If you've wanted to know how they dropped the ball, Michael Girdley has a nice overview.
Bonus: More Shoe Stuff
The video has three parts.
First part: more of how Nike is struggling. Second part: boring Croc stuff. Third part: how On shoes is taking on Nike and Adidas.
I've never tried On. Hated they how they looked when I first saw them. Now, they look ok. Maybe I'll give them a shot.
